There are plenty of fish in the sea, but this couple were happy to be caught in each other's nets after meeting on a dating website almost three years ago.

Laura Hoskins, 25, and Robert Doody, 30, were both signed up to Plenty Of Fish when they spotted each other and decided to go on a date.

‘Rob told me he loved me before he even saw me,’ says Laura.

‘We had a good first date. It was at The Churchillian pub on top of Portsdown Hill.

‘I liked everything about him, there was nothing not to like.’

Things went well for the couple, from Clanfield, and it wasn’t long before Laura and Robert both found themselves part of the tight family unit they’d always wanted.

Together with Laura’s seven-year-old daughter Lily, the couple welcomed their son Tommy Doody, now 18 months, into the world.

Laura says: ‘When I fell pregnant with Tommy the pair of us were over the moon and when he was born, we felt like he was the last missing piece to our puzzle.

‘Lily was absoloutely ecstatic to be having a little brother.’

The good times continued when in June last year, Rob proposed to Laura on her birthday, at the same place they had their first date.

‘I was completely shocked, but I said yes straight away,’ says Laura.

‘It’s what I wanted ever since I met Rob.

‘Leading up to the day I was really excited. I couldn’t wait but I also couldn’t believe it was happening.’

Laura and Robert married at Portsmouth Register Office earlier this month in the company of about 40 friends and family members.

Laura had her best friend Hayley Bonner, 25, as maid of honour. Her sister Sadie Roberts, 28, was bridesmaid along with her friend Kimberley Weaver, 25, and her daughter Lily.

Rob had two best men – his best friend Toby Edwards, 30, and his brother Lewis Doody, 25.

‘Rob was really, really nervous,’ says Laura.

‘It was very emotional when we said our vows to each other, that was the best part of the day.

‘Also, I felt amazing in my dress. It fitted me perfectly, it’s like it was made for me.’

For their reception, the newlyweds went to the Cowplain Activity Centre in Waterlooville and were joined by an extra 100 guests.

Laura says: ‘I’m delighted to be married to Rob, he’s my best friend and I love everything about him.
