Frustration as council officials pledge to resolve weeks of delays to bin collections
Bins have been left on pavements for days
Council officials have said they are working to resolve problems which has resulted in delays to bin collections across the Havant borough.
Throughout May, there have been delays to bins across many areas of the Havant borough as a result of what the council has described as 'unexpected circumstances'.
Many bins have been outside homes and on pavements for days, with many residents frustrated that they have no idea if their bin will be collected or not.

One local resident said: “The communication is appalling. If they know there are problems and our bins will not be collected on the right day then tell us so we can put it out on the correct day instead.
“The council’s portal is useless as it only eventually tells you at some point in the afternoon that it has been rescheduled. But even then the collections can been rescheduled again meaning our bins are out for there for days.”
The News contacted Havant Borough Council to ask for an explanation about why the delays are happening and how long they will continue for.
It declined to give specifics but issued the following statement: “We are aware of the current issues affecting Norse South East and want to reassure residents that we are working closely with them to help resolve the situation as quickly as possible.”
