Jackie, resources manager of the pastors, said: ‘We are normally invited to the Remembrance Day service but with lockdown only the British Legion and service personnel will be able to attend.

‘Cllr Pitt agreed we could lay a wreath and said he would join us. We remembered all the lives lost and how their sacrifice allowed us to live how we do today.

‘It is really sad the traditional event couldn’t go ahead as normal as it’s amazing and the biggest one outside London in the UK.’
