Teams battle for title at annual raft race
SEVEN home-made rafts were launched into Chichester Harbour for this year’s annual Langstone raft race.
The race has been running since 1906 with all participants raising funds for that year’s chosen charity. This year the proceeds went to the Hayling Island Lifeboat charity.
The event, organised by the landlord of the Ship Inn, in Langstone Road, Havant, welcomed Havant MP Alan Mak as the guest of honour to present the winners and losers with their prizes.
Mr Mak said: ‘It’s an excellent local event which supports a very worthwhile local charity.
‘It was fun cheering on all the participants.’
