A centre that provides artificial limb and orthotic services is lending its support to an amputee football event at the end of January.

Portsmouth Enablement Centre is working with Pompey in the Community to hold the event on Sunday, January 31 at Park Community School in Havant.

Some of those taking part are current or past service users of PEC.

Mike Pink, disability development co-ordinator for Pompey in the Community, said: ‘The idea for the day is to promote amputee football to give it a greater profile, and to encourage new players to give it a go.’

There will be three teams that will compete against each other for their national league, a taster session for new people to give amputee football a go, and plenty
of football-related activities
to keep spectators
entertained.

Portsmouth Enablement Centre is one of only 40 centres providing a service across the UK.
