Deep fat fryer blaze at kitchen at HMS Nelson in Portsmouth

A DEEP fat fryer caught fire in a kitchen at HMS Nelson.

A crew from Southsea fire station was called to the Officers' Mess at HMS Nelson at 6.55am this morning.

A fire service spokesman said: '˜The deep fat fryer had started a fire in the kitchen area.

'˜Luckily there were no injuries and the blaze was extinguished with a fire blanket.'
