Four rescued in Solent drama
Four people were rescued after a yacht was caught on the Solent sandbank on which a car carrier ran aground last year.
Calshot lifeboat was called to Bramble Bank after the yacht was marooned at high tide at 6pm yesterday.
Four people were taken onto the lifeboat while one of the lifeboatmen stayed on board the yacht with the skipper.
At about 7pm the boat re-floated and was escorted back to the Calshot Lifeboat station.
The car carrier Hoegh Osaka ran aground on Bramble Bank after it began listing in January last year.
