M27 Traffic: Overturned campervan between junction 9 Fareham and junction 8 Bursledon

Traffic on a major Hampshire motorway has come to a standstill following a collision.

National Highways have confirmed there is an overturned campervan on the M27 westbound between junction 9 Fareham and junction 8 Bursledon. Traffic has been stopped while Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue attend to the scene. The police have said there are no reported injuries at this time.

National Highways posted on X: “Traffic has been held on the M27 westbound between J9 #Fareham/#Swanwick and J8 #Bursledon due to a collision involving an overturned campervan. @HantsIOW_fire are at scene. Delays of 45 minutes and approx. 4 miles of congestion on approach.”

AA Traffic News are reporting: “Road blocked and long delays due to crash on M27 Westbound from J9 A27 Segensworth Link Road (Segensworth / Fareham) to J8 A3024 (Bursledon / Hamble). Ongoing since around 11:45.

“Severe delays of 41 minutes and delays easing on M27 Westbound between J9 A27 Segensworth Link Road (Segensworth / Fareham) and J8 A3024 (Bursledon / Hamble). Average speed five mph.”

A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.35am to a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the M27, westbound between junctions 9 and 8. There is no reports of any injuries at this time. The vehicles are in the process of being recovered.”
