Shoreham Airshow 2016 axed after last year's crash

ORGANISERS have axed this year's Shoreham Airshow.

The move was announced yesterday morning by Shoreham Airshow Ltd, the holding company that has been responsible for the annual attraction since 2003.

It comes as an investigation into the air crash disaster at last year’s show, which left 11 dead, continues.

In a statement, organisers said the decision had been taken ‘out of respect’ for those affected by the tragedy in August.

The company said when and if it was appropriate to do so, it would explore the possibility of a 2017 airshow.
