A27 crash: Delays build near Fishbourne roundabout

Delays are building past the Fishbourne Roundabout on the A27 westbound, following a collision that has blocked one lane.

It is believed that the incident took place around an hour ago, with a van and a silver Mercedes involved.

One onlooker told The News: ‘The van is sat horizontally across the left-hand lane, but the silver Mercedes has ended up right in the woodland at the side of the road – the two are really badly damaged.

‘I think both vehicles are write-offs.’

An Asda home deliveries van is also at the scene but has no damage.

Sussex Roads Policing Unit tweeted: ‘A27 westbound towards Hampshire – lane one closure following a two vehicle collision. Waiting for recovery.’

Motorists heading westbound from Fishbourne Roundabout can expect delays of roughly 15 minutes while the incident is dealt with.
