Bikers injured after incident with a van in busy Portsmouth road

PARAMEDICS are tending to a biker after a crash in North End.

Two bikes and a van have been involved in an incident in London Road, scrambling emergency services to the scene.

One of the bikers has sustained injuries to his legs, but the other is being tended to by paramedics.

Zack Wesson, 21 from Fareham, was one of the bikers caught up in the crash.

He said: ‘The van in front of us braked for something – I hit my brakes and the other bike crashed into the back of me.

‘My legs are a bit screwed up but I’m more worried about my mate.

‘He’s been in the ambulance since it turned up and the paramedics are taking care of him.’

The pair were going for a bike ride together when the incident took place roughly an hour ago.

One eyewitness said: ‘I saw someone being looked over by ambulance crews and the police have been getting statements.

‘It looks like a pretty bad crash – I hope everyone is okay.’

South Central Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
