M3 crash: Hour long delays after car overturned near Winchester

The incident happened on the northbound carriageway between junction 12 and junction 11.

Two lanes were initially blocked following the multi-vehicle crash earlier this morning.

However one lane has now reopened but long delays remain on the M3.

On its website AA Traffic says: ‘One lane closed and queueing traffic due to rolled over car on M3 Northbound from J12 A335 (Eastleigh) to J11 A3090 Hockley Link (Winchester South).

‘Lane one (of three) is closed. There is slow traffic on the opposite side due to onlookers.’

ROMANSE, Hampshire County Council’s traffic account, has reported delays of approximately one hour. T

Vehicle are said to be queuing back to the M27.

ROMANSE tweeted: ‘M3 Winchester Eastleigh northbound - lane 1 remains BLOCKED between J12/A335 Chandlers Ford and J11/A3090 Winchester due to a multi-vehicle RTI, delays backed to J14/M27.’
