It’s not the first time it has happened, with problems reported on several occasions a couple of years ago.

Drivers are advised to avoid the Purbrook Way if at all possible, instead using Barncroft way to head towards Havant or Bedhampton, or Park Lane via the A3(M) to get into Leigh Park.

A spokesman for ASDA informed The News that the store was aware of traffic at the roundabout, and that this issue crops up when the nearby McDonalds and KFC also get busy around lunch time.

They added that the supermarket itself has not been any busier than usual.
