SEVERAL roads are closed in Portsmouth this week which are likely to cause delays for motorists.

Many of them connected to motorways and major routes in and out of the city. One lane will be closed on the M275 southbound, between the M27 and Tipner.

It will be shut from 8pm tomorrow to 5am on Saturday during Portsmouth City Council. A carriageway on the northbound route of the M275 – Tipner to the M27 – will also be shut for roadworks, with a diversion route being signposted.

The works will take place between 8pm tomorrow until 5am on Thursday. One lane on the M27 westbound between Hilsea and junction 12 will be shut from 8pm on Wednesday to 6am on Thursday.

This is while technology works take place. A barrier inspection is taking place on the A27 in both directions between Eastern Road and Bedhampton.

As a result, the road will be closed from 8pm on Thursday to 6am on Friday morning. All of these works are expected to cause slight delays of under ten minutes for drivers on average.

Parts of the M27 will also be shut in Fareham this week due to scheduled projects. A slip road will be closed on the M27 eastbound at junction 10, between 9pm tomorrow and 6am on Wednesday, while work is conducted on the street lights.

On Friday, from 8pm, a slip road and a lane will be shut on the M27 westbound at junction 10 until 6am on Saturday while structure works take place. Delays of under 10 minutes are expected.
