Portsmouth fire: This is where road closures are in place as emergency services respond to Goldsmith Avenue blaze

A road closure has been put in place in Portsmouth as firefighters battle a large blaze in the city.

More than 10 fire crews are at the scene of the blaze at a car repair workshop in Goldsmith Avenue, Southsea, today.

Police are also assisting with the response to the fire.

Officers have put a road closure in place on Goldsmith Avenue.

It is shut in both directions between from Victoria Road North, until the junction with Fernhurst Road.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue have said: We were called at 10:07 to a car repair workshop. Crews from Southsea, Cosham, Portchester, Havant and Fareham are on scene.

‘Road closures are in place and Orchard Road has been evacuated as a precaution.
