Portsmouth man taken to hospital with head injury after crashing into parked van

A MAN was taken to hospital after crashing into a parked van.

The collision happened near the Mermaid pub in New Road, Buckland, at around 5.20pm on Saturday.

A Vauxhall Astra crashed into a Ford Transit van.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the driver of the Astra was taken to hospital.

A police spokesman said: ‘We were called to a report of a collision in New Road East, Portsmouth, at around 5.19pm on Saturday 7 March.

‘An Astra vehicle was in collision with a parked Ford Transit van. Further damage was caused to two other parked vehicles.

‘The driver of the Astra, a man in his 30s from Portsmouth, was taken to hospital for a head injury.
