Firefighters and police were called to the scene in Ladybridge Road at around 6am today.

Approximately ‘200 litres’ of diesel have spilled onto the road after a crash involving a tank and a mini-bus, fire service have said.

Cosham Fire Station watch manager Daryl Bishop said: ‘We were called at 6.15am. One fire appliance and one specialist vehicle were sent by Hampshire Fire and Rescue.

‘A diesel tank was being carried by pick up truck, it fell of the back and was hit by a minibus, causing the tank to split and spilling diesel on the road.

‘There is approximately 200 litres of diesel on the highway.’

Police were also at the scene.

The road has now reopened.
