A cause close to their hearts, the environment is one of many inspirations behind their new album, Restless Minds, which tackles issues close to the 24-year-old twins.

Catherine said: '˜As soon as we started writing the album, it became obvious what the themes would be.

'˜We were discussing current issues for us as twentysomethings, in a world that's scary because it's changing so quickly, but is also creating lots of exciting, new opportunities.'

The twins will be inviting their fans to the Southsea part of the Great Solent Beach Clean via email, which will be starting from Rocksby's Restaurant on the seafront at 10am.

They will also be doing an acoustic performance afterwards for the beach cleaners.

Co-founder of Final Straw Solent, Bianca Carr, says she is delighted to have the twins on board for the event.

She said: '˜It's amazing and a huge honour to have people like Catherine and Lizzy coming along.

People like them really help events like this to gather steam so we're thrilled to have them joining us.

'˜It's so kind of them to be doing an acoustic performance for everyone too '“ I really can't wait for that.'

People have been registering their interest in droves after Final Straw Solent created Facebook events for people to sign up with.

Bianca said: '˜So many people are getting involved and it means a lot to know that there are this many people in the area who want to make a difference and help us beat plastic waste for good.

'˜There's still lots of time to sign up and everyone is welcome on the day, so let's make this happen.'
