Victorious Festival revives Little Johnny Russells pub for weekend of nostalgia
Pub brought back to life
A slice of nostalgia will be served at Victorious Festival this year as it revives a cherished pub that closed down years ago.
Taking place from August 28 to 30, the three-day Southsea festival is known not only for its star-studded musical line-up, but also for celebrating independent businesses, community initiatives and the city’s history.

Now, the iconic Little Johnny Russells pub is set to make a comeback — albeit temporarily.
The pub, which closed down at the end of 2017, is currently in the process of being recreated at the site to pay tribute to the festival’s roots.
Managed by Victorious founders Andy Marsh, James Ralls and Ben Miles, the boozer was a key part of Southsea’s pub scene, and the pop-up bar will pay tribute to the iconic music and DJ nights that made it a local favourite during its 11 years of trading.
The festival also features a huge bill of acts including the likes of Richard Ashcroft, Scissor Sisters, Faithless, The Black Keys, Kasabian and The Streets as well as a family area packed with immersive activities.
