According to the Met Office rainy conditions are likely to remain for the morning today (Wednesday 19 August) before the weather clears.

“A cloudy start with showers clearing to leave a mostly dry morning. A few more showers develop through the afternoon, potentially turning heavy with a risk of hail and thunder later. Light winds freshening in the showers. Maximum temperature 24 °C,” the forecaster said.

Thursday is expected to be mostly dry and bright at first, with just a few showers developing through the morning and “showers becoming heavier with a chance of thunder in the afternoon”.

Isolated showers are possible on Friday as the weather becomes more settled.
