West Beach Car Park in Hayling Island was shut for ‘health and safety reasons’, Havant Borough Council confirmed.

In a post on social media, the authority said: ‘Due to the adverse weather we had yesterday and the high tide in the evening our colleagues at Norse closed the West Beach Car Park, Hayling Island, from the gate for health and safety reasons.’

The closure will be reviewed again today.
