Snow warning to come into force for Havant, Waterlooville and most of Hampshire

A snow warning has come into force for most of Hampshire and parts of the Portsmouth area.

The Met Office has issued a new yellow alert for Wednesday and Thursday.

The alert for snow and ice will come into force at 10am on December 30 and will remain until 6am on New Year’s Eve.

Here is where snow is being forecast in Hampshire by the Met Office

Havant and Waterlooville are covered by the weather warning.

On its website, the Met Office says: ‘A small chance of disruption from snow and ice.

‘There is a slight chance that bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times.

‘There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.

‘A slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.

‘A small chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.’
