Snow hits the UK - here's the chance of it falling in Portsmouth this week

The Met Office has issued two yellow weather warnings – one for snow, another for snow and rain – for northern areas of the UK.

This includes Scotland and the North East of England.

But what are the chances of the white stuff falling in Portsmouth?

Here’s what the forecast says:

Monday

There will be heavy rain changing to overcast in the afternoon – but snow is not being forecast by the Met Office.

Highs of 10C are predicted and winds speeds will reach 46mph at 10am.

Tuesday

It will be partly cloudy changing to light showers by lunchtime on Tuesday.

There is an 80 per cent chance of heavy rain between 4pm and 5pm – but no snow is forecast.

Highs of 8C are being predicted with lows of 2C expected.

Wednesday

Clear changing to cloudy by lunchtime – no precipitation, which includes snow or rain, is being predicted for Wednesday

Highs of 8C are being forecast with lows of 4C.

Thursday

Light rain changing to cloudy by lunchtime is predicted for Portsmouth on Thursday.

However no snow or wintry weather is being forecast.

Met Office is predicting highs of 7C and lows of 4C.

Friday

Cloudy changing to light rain by late morning – with heavy rain in the late afternoon – is being predicted for Friday.

The Met Office is not forecasting snow for Portsmouth on this day either.

Highs of 11C and lows of 8C are being predicted.
