The precautionary measure takes in N60NCBT Wireless headphones manufactured between February 16 2018 and ending July 1 2018.

The Austrian audio company have detected that the carrying case of the AKG N60NCBT Wireless headphones in the EU may contain chemicals exceeding the permitted levels under EU regulations.

Under what the company describe as "certain extreme environmental conditions", the carrying cases could contaminate the headphones - although the headphones offer no health threat to consumers, according to an independent toxicology expert consulted by AKG.

The recall is limited to the AKG N60NCBT Wireless (Bluetooth) version, and does not impact any other product, such as the AKG N60NC Wired model.

Anyone owning AKG N60NCBT Wireless headphones is asked to return them along with their carrying cases by completing the form on the AKG website.

A company spokesperson added that "AKG is committed to producing the highest quality products and we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience."
