Angels shine after slow start against Bluebells

ANGELS overcame a slow start to beat Bluebells 36-18 and continue their charge in Portsmouth League premier one.

Although the leaders did not hit top gear early on in the week four contest they stormed away by half-time and there was no stopping them from there.

Teamforce saw off Misfits with an impressive 52-28 win, with Melissa Powell having a great game at centre.

The Stars first team showed no mercy to their club-mates Stars seconds, who were getting used to new players and using a floater.

But defending champions Stars firsts won 49-19 to continue their push for top spot.

And Gems just claimed a point against Wrong Direction, who upped their game at half-time to claim a win of 42-21, with Emma Shiers dominating in defence.

In premier two, Westowen got their second win of the season, beating Skywatch 42-18.

And Cruisers are having a super start to the season as they saw off Scorpios 48-37 to remain second.

Leaders Falcons denied Magics their first win as they dominated against them winning 66-26.

And Trojan suffered a defeat to Taylor Cocks who recorded a good 48-37 success.

In division one, AMG are on fire and remain unbeaten as they claimed all five points winning 35-27 against Blueberries.

And Dolphins had a well-contested game with SOS.

It was level throughout but Dolphins kept their cool to record a narrow 43-41 win.

Heaven Sent did enough to jump off bottom spot as they beat Junction 42-30.

And Cartek had a competitive game against BMS.

It was a game that could have gone either way but Cartek came out on top as they won 40-37.

Meanwhile, in week five of premier one Angels battled it out in a close match with Wrong Direction but maintained their small lead to remain top with a 40-35 win.

Teamforce jumped up a spot as they moved right into contention with a big win against Bluebells 72-40.

Stars seconds beat Gems 36-26, as Lynsey Hayward had a great game at centre court back from injury.

And Stars firsts claimed a 56-27 win against Misfits.

In premier two, Falcons worked hard in their clash with Skywatch to win 37-28.

And Scorpios denied Magics their first win as they beat them 46-31.

A great team effort from Taylor Cocks saw off Cowplain Cruisers 44-32.

Trojan beat Westowen 41-34 in a very competitive game.

Marie Sutcliffe worked her socks off for Trojan.

In division one, AMG displayed some super netball as they beat Junction 46-17 to remain top.

SOS stayed in second spot as they beat Blueberries 37-29.

BMS lost 50-25 to in-form Dolphins, while Heaven Sent crushed Cartek 42-29.
