Dominant Meon Valley earn emphatic success

Meon Valley led from start to finish as they turned on the style to beat Lockswood B 77-32 in the Palmerston Cup.

A strong performance from Brian Sprake's Meon Valley rink saw them earn a 27-9 win against Neil Fletcher's Lockswood rink.

John Travers guided his Meon Valley rink to a 28-13 success against John Windust.

Anne Simmons' rink picked up a 22-10 win against Edwin Harding's Lockswood.

Meon collected 12 points for the win.

Bridgemary Select lost 62-40 to Banister Blue.

The Banister team were too strong from the start.

Audrey Sitch's Bridgemary put up a gallant fight.

They were 10-3 down against Peter Stokes' Banister rink after six ends.

Bridgemary battled on and went 17-16 up on the penultimate end.

That joy didn't last long, though, as they dropped two shots on the last ends to allow Banister to snatch an 18-17 win.

Peter Cooper's Bridgemary lost 17-11 to Mal Comley's Banister rink.

The match started well for Banister with five shots on the first end.

A good fightback from Bridgemary saw them only one point behind after 13 ends.

But it was Banister who went on to win comfortably.

Janet Miskin's Bridgemary fought hard against Steve Whitehead's Banister rink but ended up losing 27-12.
