Pompey drew 3-3 with the Irish side after being 3-0 up at the break in the testimonial for Gavin Peers.

Cook highlighted it’s all about being ready for Carlisle on August 6, though.

He said: ‘It’s pre season and whether the result is good, bad or indifferent it’s about being ready for the Carlisle game.

‘There were aspects which were good and there were things which made you think that’s not so great.

‘I’d rather focus on it being a great evening for Gavin Peers.

‘It’s great to come here and fulfil the fixture.

‘You can get high and low about these games, but it’s about being ready for Carlisle.’
