But they’ll also take to the Wham Stadium pitch knowing this season’s play-offs are beyond their reach.
With 10 games of the season remaining after the Accy fixture, that’s not a scenario many would not have predicted after the Blues’ fine start to the campaign.
Yet, as we’re all too aware, that early-season optimism slowly but surely drained away as results started to tail off rather spectacularly.
So what is there to look forward to as Pompey arrow in on the end of the season?
Well, there’s no doubt we all want to see the Blues end the campaign on a high and for John Mousinho to continue his solid start to life at Fratton Park.
We’ll also want to see which players – and, in particular, those soon to be out of contract – are really up for the challenge of leading the Blues into another new era next term.
The remaining games also bring with them some interesting extras that are sure to keep numbers coming through the turnstiles and supporters’ interests alive.
So here we look at what match-day highlights there are to look forward to and the subplots that exist as the Blues plough on until the end of the 2022-23 season.

5. MK Dons (A)
One of the biggest lows this season will be have been the sight of managerless MK Dons celebrating their victory over Pompey at Fratton Park back in December. It cast further doubt on then manager Danny Cowley, who was sacked three games later. Despite that win, the Dons remain in the League One relegation zone, so their survival could hinge on their home form. They're sure to make it a tough afternoon for the Blues, but with Stadium MK an away day that always attracts a large Pompey crowd, revenge will be in the air. Photo: Jason Brown

6. Morecambe (H)
Just ask Gareth Evans - Morecambe boss Derek Adams holds a Pompey grudge. Enough said! Photo: Paul Thompson

7. Shrewsbury (A)
The Shrews and manager Steve Cotterill deserve huge credit for their League One performances this season. With 10 games to go, they'll consider themselves in the mix for a play-off place. Cotterill's side are currently two places above the Blues in the table, though. And if John Mousinho is setting targets between now and the end of the season, you can be sure that overtaking the Shrews will be something he'll be desperate to achieve as he looks to finish the season strongly. 8. Oxford United (A)
There's that many subplots to this fixture, we could be hear all day. However, keeping it brief. 1) It will be John Mousinho's first game back at his former club. 2) The man he'll be facing in the opposition dugouts will be Liam Manning - his main rival for the Pompey job back in January. 3) There's no love lost between these two sides after recent play-off battles. 4) Joe Morrell was controversially sent off on the Blues' last visit to the Kassam Stadium - a decision that led to some half-time scuffles in the tunnel.
