The inspirational Josh Murphy scored one and then set up Matt Ritchie for the other in a 2-1 success over an in-form QPR.
The victory wasn’t without it cost, mind, with injuries to Rob Atkinson, Isaac Hayden and Zak Swanson, while Hayden Matthews had to be helped off the pitch at the end having stayed on with no more subs available.
Still, John Mousinho’s men are now nine points clear of the drop and their rejuvenation continues at pace. Here are our player ratings...

1. Nicolas Schmid - 7
Composed, dominated his area and claimed plenty of crosses. Produced a sprawling save on 58 minutes to deny Kone’s header, but generally was barely tested. Photo: Graham Hunt

2. Terry Devlin - 8 - MOM
Another lively showing from right back and established as a hugely popular performer.. Opened the scoring with a left-footed half-volley from 12-yards out after Chaplin corner half cleared. Just gets better and better. Photo: Graham Hunt

3. Hayden Matthews - 7
Run in the side continues, despite Bowat returning from injury. Another confident showing, comfortable on the ball and confidence steadily improving. Photo: Graham Hunt

4. Regan Poole - 8
Such a warrior and again the Blues’ defensive linchpin. Suffered a facial injury at the start of second half when he headed the back of Burrell’s head, not that it stopped him. Powerful and has a huge heart. Photo: Graham Hunt
