The inspirational Josh Murphy scored one and then set up Matt Ritchie for the other in a 2-1 success over an in-form QPR.
The victory wasn’t without it cost, mind, with injuries to Rob Atkinson, Isaac Hayden and Zak Swanson, while Hayden Matthews had to be helped off the pitch at the end having stayed on with no more subs available.
Still, John Mousinho’s men are now nine points clear of the drop and their rejuvenation continues at pace. Here are our player ratings...

5. Zak Swanson - 7
Back into the team following illness, replacing Williams, and produced another showing at left-back, a role he has undoubtedly made his own since Connor Ogilvie’s injury. Photo: Simon Roe

6. Andre Dozzell - 8
Absolutely ran the show in first half, dictating Pompey’s dominance in that period. One wonderful pass from deep in own half on 15 minutes to Swanson to launch one attack. Frustratingly faded - but what a first-half master class. Photo: Graham Hunt

7. Mark Kosznovszky - 7
(Replaced by Marlon Pack on 69 mins) - Another neat and tidy display, showing energy and enthusiasm. Always comfortable on the ball and withdrawn with an apparent injury issue. Photo: Simon Roe

8. Callum Lang - 7
Started on the right wing and later moved to the left, then back to the right again as Pompey utilised his versatility. Regardless, always a big threat and is now looking like his old self after long lay-off. Photo: Graham Hunt
