Eight months after his Fratton Park exit for an undisclosed fee to begin a new chapter at Fleetwood, the 28-year-old has found himself another new club – Port Vale.

The newly-promoted League One outfit have turned to the forward as they look to bolster their fire-power for their first year back in the third tier.

There, Harrison will be reunited with former Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke, whom he played for at The Gas for four years.

The move means Harrison leaves Fleetwood after six goals from 20 appearances – and just three months after signing a new contract at The Highbury Stadium.

He had yet to get off the mark this season under new boss Scott Brown following two league appearances – one of which was from the bench.

Meanwhile, Harrison was an unused sub as the Cod Army beat Wigan 1-0 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Prior to his move to Fleetwood in January, the striker scored 20 goals in 84 appearances at Pompey.

In fairness, though, it was an injury-hampered two-and-a-half season association with the Blues following a £425,000 arrival from Ipswich in 2019.

Crucially, Harrison featured just 14 times under Danny Cowley, three starts of which were starts.

And, with the 28-year-old’s contract up at the end of the 2021-22 season, Pompey’s boss held ‘honest’ talks which resulted in both parties agreeing to a January transfer window parting.
