The Blues’ delayed day out at Wembley finally takes place tomorrow when they face Salford City in the Papa John’s Trophy final.
The clash was due to take place more than a year ago but was postponed amid the Covid-19 crisis.
And given we’re 12 months down the line, it means both teams’ squads have changed significantly.
The likes of Charlie Daniels, Michael Jacobs, Rasmus Nicolaisen and Jordy Hiwula all weren’t at Fratton Park when Pompey booked their return to the national stadium with a dramatic 3-2 semi-final win over Exeter in March 2020.
Still, Kenny Jackett’s been given the green light to select from his enture squad after confusion earlier in the week was finally cleared up.
Pompey are in dire form heading into the final, having won just one of their past seven games and dropped to sixth in League One.
Jackett has to not only select a side who can win the final but one that can get its confidence back if the Blues are to yield promotion to the Championship with 13 matches in the league remaining.
Here’s how we think Pompey will start against Salford...

5. Left-back - Lee Brown
The role is still unsettled since Charlie Daniels' arrival in January. However, with Brown part of the squad that reached the final, he might get the nod. He performed superbly in the win over Sunderland in 2019. Photo: Joe Pepler

6. Right-midfield - Ryan Williams
The Aussie was arguably Pompey's best performer in the disappointing loss to Sunderland on Tuesday upon his return to the line-up. Difficult to see him being left out. Photo: Joe Pepler

7. Centre-midfield - Tom Naylor
Pompey's skipper would relish liftin the silverware aloft, having been a key player in the triumph two years ago. Photo: Joe Pepler

8. Centre-midfield - George Byers
The Swansea loanee angrily left Fratton Park when left out of Tuesday's game with Sunderland. However, with Andy Cannon set to be absent, a berth in the engine room has opened up. Byers' forward-thinking style may give him the edge over Harvey White. Photo: Joe Pepler
