On-loan Norwich defender Sean Raggett responds to knockers who mocked his performances as Portsmouth career hits new high
Sean Raggett promised he won’t let the knockers affect his Pompey performances.
The defender proved a key figure in the Blues setting a new record for consecutive wins with a 2-0 success at Tranmere.
Raggett once again made an important contribution to Pompey’s success with the opening goal, to keep up his excellent win ratio this season.
It’s now 20 wins and five draws from his 28 appearances this term, with the defender’s form accelerating all the time.
Despite that, Raggett has dealt with some criticism this term, but his detractors were drowned out on Saturday by those appreciating his efforts.
The 26-year-old brushed off the views of any doubters with focus purely on doing all he can to help Pompey to success.
He said: ‘I feel like I’m doing better in every game I play.
‘I just want to keep playing and continue to improve.
‘Everyone can have their opinions. I’m not too bothered about people’s opinions.
‘I just focus on myself and I know I’ve got a decent enough win record since I’ve been here.
‘So I’ll keep doing my thing, keep playing football and enjoying it.
‘I’ve 100 per cent got faith in what I can do.
‘Everything I do, I do for the team. I’m not a selfish player.
‘We don’t have selfish players in this team. That’s why we’re doing well at the minute.
‘Successful teams always have that and we’ve definitely got it here.
‘How long can this run go? The end of the season! We need to keep going.’
