Portsmouth announce arrival of former Bournemouth and Shrewsbury defender Charlie Daniels

The former Bournemouth left-back has joined until the end of the season after electing to leave Shrewsbury last week.

The Blues had been confident of landed the 34-year-old, whose family remain on the south-coast.

Daniels had also asked former Pompey keeper Asmir Begovic – and ex-Bournemouth team-mate – for his thoughts on a Fratton Park switch.

Now that has been confirmed by the Blues, although he was not registered in time to be part of today’s squad against Hull.

The likelihood is Daniels will be available for Tuesday’s visit of Michael Appleton’s Lincoln City.
