Portsmouth fans left baffled why striker's left on bench again in Bristol Rovers loss

The Blues will rue a missed opportunity as they left the Memorial Stadium empty-handed.

Kenny Jackett's side had a chance to move third in the League One table – yet failed to take advantage against the struggling Gas.

Pompey threw away a first-half lead after John Marquis had opened the scoring. Ex-Hawks striker Jonah Ayunga bagged a brace before Luke Leahy netted a penalty in the second period.

To compound the Blues’ misery, Marquis missed a stoppage-time spot-kick.

The Fratton faithful have been venting their frustration at the final whistle.

Unsurprisingly, many are baffled why, yet again, Jordy Hiwula was left on the bench despite Pompey trailing by two goals.
