Pompey welcome Blackburn Rovers to Fratton Park on Saturday (3pm) knowing they desperately need to start turning things around.
Three Championship defeats in a row and just one win in 10 leaves John Mousinho’s side third from bottom in the table and two points from safety.
The Blues do have a game in hand on 21st-placed Oxford United after last weekend’s trip to Charlton was abandoned after 12 games following a medical emergency in the home end.
But with Pompey currently struggling for victories and limited to just four all season, playing one game less than the U’s provides little comfort.
A win against a fellow Championship struggler will do confidence levels around Fratton Park the world of good, though, and give fans some much-needed belief as we approach the second half of the season.
But what should Mousinho do selection-wise to ensure another PO4 moment isn’t missed? The head coach still has one hand tied behind his back due to injuries - but he does have options to once again tinker with a forward line that is the joint-lowest for goals in the division.
Is it time to recall Colby Bishop to the team? Does he need to give someone else the chance to make themselves indispensible on the right wing? Is Saturday’s visit of Blackburn the perfect opportunity to get the best out of Conor Chaplin? Does he restore Callum Lang his his favoured no10 role?
These are just some of the questions only Mousinho knows the answer to. We’ll soon find out tomorrow. But in the meantime, here’s how we think Pompey will line up against a Blackburn side just five points above them in the table.

9. Right-wing - Harvey Blair
The former Liverpool man has played just 62 minutes of football this season, but looked lively when brought off the bench against Swansea in midweek. The right-wing position has been a problematic one for Pompey this season, with the Blues utilising players out there who prefer to play elsewhere. Blair's a natural right winger, who has the capacity to replicate what Josh Murphy does down the left flank. Pompey just need to keep him fit. | Iconic Media

10. Central attacking midfield - Callum Lang
Played up top on his own against Swansea, but could be asked to revert back to his favourited No10 role as Pompey continue to look for the creative spark they've been missing there this season. His energy, work-rate and ability to stretch defences could work well with the pace and power of Blair and Murphy down the flanks. | Iconic Media

11. Left-wing: Josh Murphy
The winger didn't have the best of games against Swansea but continues to prove a valuable outlet for Pompey and a player who puts the fear of God into opposition defenders. There are times when you feel Murphy could do with a rest, especially after a period out through injury, but the Blues don't have the luxury to do that. | Iconic Media

12. Centre-forward - Colby Bishop
With Lang back in the team as a No10 and Blair and Murphy operating down the flanks and sure to get their fair share of crosses into the Blackburn box, this might just be the game to get Bishop back firing. He gets a recall after being benched for the abandoned game v Charlton and the visit to Swansea. | Iconic Media
