Pompey came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers in their latest friendly.
John Mousinho’s men found themselves trialling on 57 minutes following Fabrizio Cavegn’s low strike from the edge of the box which beat Ben Killip.
However, the Blues were indebted to a surprise triallist for the leveller, whose switch from left-back to left wing brought a save out of Rovers’ keeper.
Fellow substitute Brandon Downey followed up to divert the loose ball into the next for a 77th minute equaliser against the League Two side.

2. Nicolas Schmid - 6
(Replaced by Ben Killip on 46 mins) Pushed one dangerous cross from the right away, while another Rovers shot hit the top of the crossbar. Otherwise very comfortable and commanded his area excellently. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
3. Terry Devlin - 7
(Replaced by Triallist on 46 mins) Welcome return to the side after missing the previous two friendlies with a knock. One right-footed shot from 25 yards just over the bar after 10 minutes. Class shone through. | Habibur Rahman
4. Conor Shaughnessy - 7
(Replaced by Madiodio Dia on 62 mins) Fascinating battle with centre-forward Quigley, yet the Pompey man was always on top, much to the frustration of the Bristol Rovers attacker. Physically dominant and in complete control. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
