Pompey came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers in their latest friendly.
John Mousinho’s men found themselves trialling on 57 minutes following Fabrizio Cavegn’s low strike from the edge of the box which beat Ben Killip.
However, the Blues were indebted to a surprise triallist for the leveller, whose switch from left-back to left wing brought a save out of Rovers’ keeper.
Fellow substitute Brandon Downey followed up to divert the loose ball into the next for a 77th minute equaliser against the League Two side.
And here are our player ratings...

5. Regan Poole - 7
(Replaced by Hayden Matthews on 62 mins) Friendly or not, was throwing himself into every challenge and header as if the season depended on it. As committed as ever, it was another reminder of how effective his partnership with Shaughnessy is. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages

6. Jordan Williams - 7 - MOM
(Replaced by Ashton Sizer on 62 mins) Named at left-back and put in a strong showing, both in defence and attack. A superb driving run teed up Kenny, who fired over, while one pass with the outside of the boot to Kenny, only for Harbottle to block the subsequent shot. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages

7. Odin Bailey - 6
(Replaced by Rocco Shein on 62 mins) Played the deepest of the central midfielders and made very effective use of the ball, keeping possession excellently. Tried to keep things simple, constantly moving play along, and an encouraging outing overall. | Portsmouth FC

8. John Swift - 5
(Replaced by Luke Le Roux on 62 mins) Asked to play centrally in midfield and always wanted the ball, looking to help create. Yet his passing accuracy was frustratingly a real mixed bag as he struggled for reliability with distribution. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
