Ex-Portsmouth, Bradford and Charlton man signs for Aberdeen - hours after sudden Fratton Park exit

Tom McIntyre has found himself a new club - hours after his mutually-agreed Fratton Park departure.

Now he has been unveiled at Aberdeen, joining on a short-term deal until the season’s end.
Former Blues team-mates Kusini Yengi and Adil Aouchiche have both left the seventh-placed Scottish Premiership side during the transfer window.
Now the Dons have moved to snap up free agent McIntyre, who made 14 appearances during his time on the south coast.

‘He has a good pedigree, and we believe he has the ability to make an impact for the club. He’s eager to prove himself in the Scottish Premiership.’
McIntyre spent the first half of the season at Bradford, where he made 11 appearances, including three League One starts.
However, they returned him to Fratton Park midway through the scheduled season-long loan - yet the former Reading man still wasn’t considered for John Mousinho’s first-team.
With his contract expiring this summer, it was mutually agreed to end it early, thereby allowing McIntyre the opportunity to find another club.
Now he has linked up with Aderdeen, who are under the interim management of Peter Leven, following Jimmy Thelin’s departure last month.
McIntyre told the club: ‘When the opportunity arose to join Aberdeen, it was something I was really keen to make happen”, said McIntyre.
‘It’s obviously a huge club and as a Scottish player I know how passionate the fans are here so I hope I can play my part in helping the team finish the season strongly.’
