Marko Milovanovic netted the only goal as Pompey secured a 1-0 win at Norwich City.

Marko Milovanovic has insisted he has ‘never missed’ a penalty in his life after he netted Pompey’s winner at Norwich City.

And the striker is confident there is still ‘more to come’ from the Blues as they secured back-to-back Championship wins.

John Mousinho’s troops continued their impressive run since their Southampton defeat with a hard-fought success at Carrow Road.

Milovanovic, also known as Marezi, calmly fired past Daniel Grimshaw after the Blues were awarded a 51st-minute penalty following a foul on Abu Kamara.

Despite a delay to the spot kick as referee Gavin Ward attempted to calm the Norwich anger, the 23-year-old fired home the only goal of the game.

Marezi’s emphatic response after penalty success

And despite the noise prior to the penalty, the Fratton faithful had no doubting his ability from 12 yards

He told The News: ‘Very tough game. We played really well in the first half and after we scored the goal, we definitely deserved three points.

‘It was a really good performance, especially the defenders so it was deserved.

‘I’m really good at scoring penalties, I’ve never missed in my life. It was very good for me.

‘There was (a lot of distractions before the penalty) but I stayed focused and just did my thing. Nothing can disturb me.

‘They (Norwich) are a really good team but when we are 100 per cent, we can show a lot. There’s still a lot to come. That’s how we perform and it’s who we are.’

Impressive Pompey response after Southampton

Pompey have now picked up maximum points in both of their Championship fixtures following their disappointing derby-day defeat to Southampton last week.

After triumphs over Sheffield United and Norwich, Mousinho’s troops now sit 13th in the early-season standings and are six points clear of the relegation zone.

And Marezi has praised the response shown by the Blues to bounce-back from their St Mary’s frustrations.

‘It’s a really good response from the team. It shows we’re really strong as a team with all the players and staff.

‘That’s how we need to perform every single game, we just need to keep doing that. Every game is important for us so we just need to stay focused because we have some strong games in front of us.

‘Today is done, tomorrow we recover and we need to get ready for every single game.

‘It’s tough now so we only have time to recover and we play again (on Tuesday against Wolves).’
