Exclusive:Adrian Segečić transfer latest amid Birmingham City and new interest in Portsmouth’s prized asset
The transfer latest over Pompey’s prized asset this evening, as the summer window shuts at 11pm tomorrow evening.
John Mousinho expects Adrian Segečić to remain at Pompey beyond the transfer window.
That’s despite new interest in the Blues’ prized asset surfacing at the climax of summer player trading.
Mousinho on Segečić leaving Pompey: ‘I don’t think it’s going to happen.’

The News understands there’s new teams vying for the attacker, with Birmingham City keen on the 22-year-old.
Crucially, however, that has yet to develop into a concrete bid for Segečić and, with Pompey wary of the timeframe over replacing the player, that currently points to him remaining at PO4.
In addition to Birmingham, a Championship rival and sizable European outfit are keen on the man who topped the Blues’ goal charts last season - with Wrexham mentioned as potential suitors this evening.
Segečić is keen to stay on these shores however, and is perfectly happy to remain at Fratton Park, with a valuation of around £5m on the player.
Time is ticking down to tomorrow’s 11pm deadline with Birmingham yet to formalise their long-held admiration in the player - and no one officially moving for the Croatian.
Mousinho feels that now points towards the fans’ favourite remaining at the club he arrived at from Sydney FC last year.
The Pompey boss told The News this evening: ‘Nothing has progressed with Segs.
‘Something may change between now and tomorrow night, but I fully expect him to be available for Derby.
‘I’m relaxed, because we’re at this stage without any bids coming in.
‘The only danger is if something comes in late and we think it may be decent enough to accept, Segs wants to pursue that and we haven’t had time to replace him. We have to be wary of when that cut-off point will land.
‘We can probably react (tomorrow), but there’s a lot of different considerations.
‘If you’re looking at a UK-based transfer or loan (to replace Segečić) it’s straightforward, but if we have eyes on a player from across the continent we really need to get the ball rolling today.
‘I don’t think it’s going to happen.
‘If there was a club preparing a bid I think they would’ve at least been in touch with us to sound it out, because the later you leave it we will just say it’s not going to happen.
‘Segs has been fine and is still hungry goals, so as long as he’s in the building he will be available for selection.’
