Reeco Hackett-Fairchild has departed Pompey to return to Bromley on loan.

The winger heads back to Hayes Lane until January 3, although the Blues hold the option to recall him after the initial 28-day period.

Hackett-Fairchild moved to Fratton Park from Bromley in January for an undisclosed fee.

It was reward for his fine form at the National League side, scoring eight goals in 25 appearances.

Yet Hackett-Fairchild has struggled to establish himself at Pompey.

He's made just one appearance against Walsall in the EFL Trophy a day after his arrival.

What’s more, the ex-Charlton man has not been included in any the Blues' match-day squads in the opening five matches of the season.

He said: ‘It’s tough for Reeco and he would 100 per cent want to go out on loan, yes,

‘He had a good pre-season and has in recent weeks got over his injury and looks sharp in training.

‘But would he want to go on loan? Yes, he would.

‘It’s a situation where we’ve had a month to assess that and we’ll see who comes in.

‘Obviously, in the end we have to consider Reeco’s situation, but we also have to make sure we get things right for the club.

‘He is one that would be frustrated, however, because he wants to play football.

‘I think someone where he plays is what we want. He’s more than capable of attracting interest if we decided to let him go.’
