Portsmouth boss John Mousinho has provided an update on the fitness of summer signing of Jacob Farrell as Pompey return to action this weekend against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road Stadium.
They will hope that after nine matches, they can finally secure their first win of the Championship season . However, they are set to do so without Farrell who is set to continue his time on the sidelines. The Australian 21-year-old signed with the Blues back in July, joining on a four-year deal from Central Coast Mariners.

The left-back has since missed the Blues’ 6-1 humiliation to Stoke before once again being absent in the 1-1 home draw against Oxford United. It had been hoped that the international break would provide a key rest period in which the 21-year-old defender could recover. However, Mousinho has since told the media that we are unlikely to see Farrell for a while.
He said: “Not back in training yet, he has tweaked that MCL that he tweaked previously that kept him out for a few weeks at the start of his time at the football club and he is spending a bit of time off his feet before he’s going to be back and available. So nothing imminent for Jacob.”
Farrell will join Colby Bishop, Ibane Bowat and Conor Shaughnessy in the medical room while we await news of Callum Lang’s potential inclusion into the squad. Bishop and Bowat are set to be out for the majority of the 2024/25 campaign while the Irish defender Shaughnessy continues to recover from a calf issue. The Blues kick-off at 3pm on Saturday in west London as they fight with fellow relegation contenders QPR.
