A win for the Blues over a side deep in relegation trouble would go a long way to securing their Championship status for another season. A victory for Miron Muslic’s side, on the other hand, would give the Pilgrims hope of a great escape and put seeds of doubt in the minds of those at Pompey who are already planning for second-tier football next term.
With that in mind, Pompey will more than likely keep faith with the side that turned the title race on its head and beat Leeds on Sunday. However, with the effort each and every one of the Blues players put in against Daniel Farke’s side, does John Mousinho tweak his starting XI slightly to ensure no-one goes into the game with a bit of leftover fatigue in theire legs?
We’ll have to wait until 6.45pm, when the team is officially announced, to find out. In the meantime, here’s how we think the Blues will line up against the Pilgrims.

5. Centre-back 2 - Marlon Pack
There's many out there who doubt Pack's ability to play in the centre of defence - but he once again proved he's up for the job following his showing against the division's top scorers on Sunday. His superb range of passing out of defence also gives John Mousinho licence to continue with the midfielder in the back four - a vital tool that helps Pompey quickly get on the front foot. | National World

6. Left-back - Connor Ogilvie
A player who initially struggled with the step-up to the Championship, Ogilvie is now one of the first names on the teamsheet. He's been immensed for Pompey in recent months - form that he once again demonstrated against Leeds on Sunday. His pass for Colby Bishop's only goal of the game was pure class and helps his case further when it comes to deciding Pompey's player of the year - for which he's no doubt a real contender. | National World

7. Centre-midfield 1 - Andre Dozzell
The midfielder faces an automatic two-match ban if he picks up a booking against Plymouth tonight. That will no doubt be on John Mousinho's mind when it comes to picking his starting XI for the game against Plymouth. However, Dozzell has been a real shining light for Pompey in recent weeks. Taking him out of the side will weaken the team - something Pompey don't want to risk when Championship safety is so close. | National World

8. Central-midfield 2 - Freddie Potts
The on-loan West Ham midfielder sat out four games with a calf injury before returning to the side against Leeds. Will two high-octane games in the space of four days be something Pompey will want for the hugely-impressive 21-year-old? Probably not, but the Blues will also want to book their Championship safety as soon as possible. And if your picking your best XI to do that, then Potts is included. | National World
