Portsmouth transfer news live: date CONFIRMED for when fans will be allowed back into Fratton Park

The Blues are vehmently against the proposed salary cap that would be implemented for the start of the 2020-21 season.

Chief executive Mark Catlin has been spearheading Pompey’s charge against it, while the likes of Sunderland and Ipswich are also in the same corner.

The mooted idea would mean Kenny Jackett will have a player salary limit of £2.5m for the upcoming campaign – around £1.5 less than it is at present.

The Blues will also be able to sign just five senior players this summer, with squads limited to a maxium of 22. Those under 21 are exempt, however.
