But Mark Catlin has highlighted the contract concern which needs solving to ensure they can impact the remainder of this season, if it’s played.

Uncertainty is rife in the English game over the best way to deal with the huge swathe of issues raised by the coronavirus outbreak.

Steve Seddon, Ross McCrorie, Cameron McGeehan and Sean Raggett make up those players, with all four featuring heavily in Kenny Jackett’s squad.

The News understands all the players would be open to the idea of a permanent move if a deal could be agreed.

Catlin said: ‘I think all of those lads in common with the team have done really well this year.

‘The situation definitely remains under review - and I don’t think the current situation affects that.

‘If the league continues, in regard to the contracts, all of that needs to be thought about.

‘As loan players, their contracts tend to end on a certain date that was deemed to be the end of the season. Now it’s not the end of the season, potentially.

‘All of that is still up for review at a much higher level than just Portsmouth Football Club.

‘That applies for all clubs.’

Catlin believes an open dialogue between the football authorities and the Professional Footballers’ Association will be central to resolving the contract issues football faces.

He added: ‘The key to it all is really keeping the PFA involved, which I believe the Premier League, EFL and FA are doing.

‘They need to be on board with each and every decision made to be able to get it across to their members.’
