Dundee United have laid down a £250,000 offer for the prolific Scotsman, according to thecourier.co.uk.

And the Blues’ League One rivals Shrewsbury Town are also said to be keen to take the Dunfermline hitman to New Meadow.

But it’s the Tangerines who have made a firm offer, however, after their return to the SPL, although it’s thought to fall short of the Pars’ valuation.

Hibernian are also keeping tabs on Nisbet, while Rangers are known to be an admirer of the front man who has been firing in goals at a prolific rate for the past two seasons.

Nisbet has bagged 23 goals this term from 32 outings and that return follows on from him firing in a whopping 34 finishes to finish as the top scorer in Scottish League One for Raith in the 2018-19 season.

The former Raith Rovers and Partick Thistle man is thought to prefer staying in Scotland over a switch south of the border, although Dunfermline chairman Ross McArthur has made it clear none of Nisbet’s Scottish suitors will get the marksman on the cheap.

Pompey were last summer interested in Lawrence Shankland, but he eventually also made a move to Tannadice where he’s continued to bag goals.

Shankland’s hit 28 goals in 33 appearances and earned a Scotland call-up this term, as he’s helped Dundee United to the Scottish Championship title after moving from Ayr United.
