Last weekend marked the 12th anniversary of Pompey’s 4-1 FA Cup battering of Southampton on their own patch.

In one of the most memorable South coast derbies in history, Avram Grant’s men mauled their fierce rivals on their own patch with a four-goal second-half battering.
But what became of the heroes who put Pompey’s financial pain to book their place in the quartezxr-finals, as they went on to reach the final of the famous, old competition?
We’ve traced their footsteps since they left Fratton Park, with some very different paths being travelled.

5. Marc Wilson
A product of the Pompey Academy, the Irishman spent four years in the first team before leaving in 2010. After leaving Fratton Park in 2010 Wilson spent six years at Stoke before moves, to Bournemouth, Sunderland and West Brom. The Algerian left-back played 70 times in his two-year stay in PO4 between 2008 and 2010. The 39-year-old left Qatari side Al-Sadd following a 11-year spell after his Pompey departure. He returned to his former club CS Sedan-Ardennes in the summer and has played 13 times for the them in the French third tier. (Photo by Bryn Lennon/Getty Images) Photo: Bryn Lennon
Diop flourished at the 2002 World Cup and joined the Blues from Premier League counterparts Fulham before departing following relegation to the Championship in 2010. The 35-year-old played 32 times during his year-long loan at Fratton Park. On loan from Spurs he returned to White Hart Lane that summer but left a year later where he then spent three years at Wolves. After spells at Blackpool and Fulham, the midfielder retired in 2016 after an injury.
