With Michael Jacobs sidelined with the knee problem sustained at Sunderland, the Irishman has been handed a way back into the Blues’ starting XI.

He will start in his customary role on the left as Kenny Jackett’s side seek to make it three successive League One victories.

That is the only change to the team which performed so impressively at the Stadium of Light on Saturday in a 3-1 win.

Elsewhere, Curtis’ return to the starting line-up ensures a call-up for Haji Mnoga among Pompey’s substitutes.

Once again Paul Downing and James Bolton are overlooked, while Ellis Harrison is still missing with the grade one hamstring tear collected against Doncaster.

Pompey: MacGillivray, Johnson, Whatmough, Raggett, Brown, Williams, Naylor, Cannon, Curtis, Harness, Marquis.

Subs: Bass, Pring, Mnoga, Nicolaisen, Morris, Close, Hiwula.
