Only Burgess has a new club, having joined Belgium side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
The other four who have left are now free agents and can are able to talk to clubs over a potential move.
But they aren’t the only players who’ve plied their trade at Fratton Park during thier careers who’ll also be trying to find a new home.
There’s an array of ex-Pompey players who are also out of contract this summer.
We’ve taken a look at some of them...
1. Omar Bogle
The striker netted four times in 14 games on loan from Cardiff last term. He had his injuries but he showed glimpses there was a talented player there when on song. Has been released by the Bluebirds, having been on loan at Dutch side Den Haag before the season was curtailed amid the Covid-19 outbreak. Photo: Daniel Chesterton
2. Ricky Holmes
The former News/ Sports Mail Player of the Season has left Sheffield United but revealed that he's set to retire because of an ongoing back injury. Photo: Joe Pepler
3. Viv Solomon-Otabor
The winger was released by CSKA Sofia because of the financial impact of the coronavirus. Kenny Jackett was a big fan during his loan from Birmingham last season - but Pompey fans are still haunted by his offside goal against Peterborough. Nevertheless, plenty of raw talent and still only 24. Photo: Joe Pepler
4. Lloyd Isgrove
The wide man didn’t make one appearance while on loan at the same time as Solomon-Otabor. He enjoyed a fine season at Swindon, though, playing a key role in their League Two title triumph. He’s yet to sign a new deal at the Robins, with boss Richie Wellens recently saying his agent is demanding too much money. Photo: Joe Pepler
